Aroma
We look for the fresh, recognizable aroma that makes catnip engaging for many cats.
Quality begins before catnip reaches the pouch. It continues through thoughtful selection, careful preparation, and packaging designed with freshness in mind.
Pinchnip grows the whole flower buds used in our flagship Pinch of Nip on our Missouri farm. Luna’s Harvest and Stick of Nip may also use qualifying material from selected partner farms as our growing capacity expands.
This combination keeps our attention on the qualities that matter in each format: aroma, appearance, condition, and careful preparation.
Our quality review centers on practical characteristics customers and their cats can experience.

Color, texture, and condition help us assess material for its intended product format.
We review incoming material for its overall condition before it moves into our small-batch process.
Whole buds, stem-free flower and leaf, and dried stems are kept in their intended formats.
We prepare our catnip in small batches, separating stems, leaves, and flower tops during processing so each product contains the plant material selected for that blend or format. Every batch is reviewed for aroma, appearance, and overall condition before packaging.
We use resealable stand-up pouches designed to help protect aroma and freshness during ordinary shipping and storage. From selecting the material for each product through separation, quality review, and packaging, Pinchnip directly manages the process behind every pouch.
Pinchnip is committed to establishing dedicated farm property of its own. Expanding our growing capacity will support closer seed-to-pouch oversight while building on the growing work already underway.
We are also committed to developing a giving program for veterinary clinics and humane societies that choose to use catnip for supervised enrichment.
From selecting material for aroma, appearance, and condition through small-batch preparation and freshness-focused packaging, each step reflects the quality focus behind the Pinchnip name.
